Legislative Victory in New York City

Representing the interests of Avaya, Inc, the Envision team helped drive through a significant change in 911 emergency communications.  Known as Kari’s Law, the legislation first passed in Texas, requires direct dial access for 911 services in hotels, office buildings and commercial properties.  The bill is named for Kari Hunt, who was killed by domestic violence, while her daughter was unable to reach emergency services from their hotel room. Led by Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley, passage of this bill represents a true victory for public safety and our client’s mission to be a leader in critical communication services.  Learn more here from Avaya.
