JONATHAN SHABSHAIKHES JOINS ENVISION STRATEGY Experienced New York City and State Lobbyist goes private
Washington, DC – Envision Strategy is pleased to announce that Jonathan Shabshaikhes has joined our team. Jonathan will focus his work on New York City and State government. His 10 years of experience working in, and with, New York City and State government, and with the New York Attorney General’s Office, will help extend our clients ability to affect policy and provide them positive outcomes.

His unique skill set, having worked in the Attorney General’s Office, with local elected officials and community organizations, will bring a perspective that not many other organizations can offer.”
Mr. Shabshaikhes has extensive experience working in the New York State and New York City government as well as years of private sector experience advocating for equitable public health policies. Jonathan started his career getting involved in local community-based organizations and political campaigns. He served for 2 years as the Legislative and Budget Director in the New York City Council under the Office of the Deputy Leader, working on various legislation and managing the distribution of the Member’s discretionary funding budget. Afterward, he was the Intergovernmental Affairs Coordinator and Jewish Liaison at the New York City Public Advocate’s Office- developing relationships with many government officials, key staff, and community leaders.
He transitioned to the Office of the New York State Attorney General Letitia James as the Deputy Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for the New York City region. Most recently, Jonathan worked at VNS Health (Visiting Nurse Service) as the Associate Director of Government Affairs, leading City, State, and Federal legislative lobbying efforts.
Jonathan brings to Envision a proficiency in New York City and New York State politics. In 2023, he was included in City and State’s “Who’s Who in Government Relations” list. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the City University of New York- Hunter College Political Science. Jonathan is a proud first-generation American, New Yorker, and Brooklynite.
